Gill Blower's Art Links - and others
GENERAL LINKS
Flylady
My top link seems to have nothing to do with art at all. But here you'll find a personal coach who helps you to free up time from your busy life for special activities - like drawing & painting or visiting art galleries!CARE
CARE is a Christian charity involved in caring, campaigning and communicating across the UK. CARE is committed to being part of the answer in a society which so often asks "who cares?"Steep Turnpike Church, Matlock
My church's website, with lots of general information. The "Life! Help" section is particularly useful. We also have a fun kid's website - www.kids.inmatlock.com"In Matlock"

Walking in the Peak District
My husband and I love walking in the Peak District. This site has some great walks and is well illustratedART WEBSITES - mainly for CHILDREN
Face2Face: Portraits from the Past
A story based game, plus stacks of interesting art information. You must rescue people from famous art portraits who have become stranded in the present day after our hero brought them here in a time-machine. You must search for clues in each painting so discover how to return these people to their own time. Investigate a variety of aspects about the painting - from the painting medium used to the history of the period and use the information to program a time machine control panel (this appears at the bottom of your screen during the game).
Lots of other activities and info are also provided on this site (owned by art materials manufacturer Sanford).
Other aspects of the site include matching 12 famous historical portraits with their names or discovering works by artists such as Piero della Francesca, Marsden Hartley, and Dorothea Lange. Fascinating and detailed information about the artists, the era, the history, the techniques used to create the work, and more. Learn by comparing artistic works.
Art Tales: Telling Stories with Wildlife Art
Choose a picture from the National Museum of Wildlife Art and become a frontier explorer, field-guide writer or museum curator. Prompt-questions help you work out what the artist was trying to show. Create your own stories about the picture, add music, and if you wish, submit your story to be featured on the site. Remember to view other visitors' stories!Slow to load, but worth the wait.
